When the back braces are glued on they are planed to height and profiled. They will then have their ends scalloped away to free up vibration.

Small holes are drilled through a couple of the fret slots for Luthier's Fingerboard Location Dowels, to ensure correct alignment of the fingerboard when gluing. These will be covered by the frets.
