The back is joined in a jig using wedges to hold the two halves together.

The front has been joined and thicknessed. A circle cutter is used to cut the outline for the soundhole decoration.

The decoration has been fitted and scraped flush.

Gorm has fitted and shaped the fan braces. Next the transverse and 'A' braces are glued on.

A small curve is planed into the underside of the final brace, the bridge.

The bridge will be located during gluing by two small dowels fitted in holes drilled through the saddle slot.

The sides are reduced to height prior to gluing the linings. The central hole in the heel block is for the single neck attachment bolt; the three smaller holes are access to grub screws adjusting the neck angle and alignment.

The trial stringing is done 'in the white', ie before finishing.
