Kristian is planing the basswood body flat ready for the padauk facing.

The padauk facing has been joined and planed, and is now being surfaced using a scraper plane.

Kristian has decided to achieve a decorative effect by cutting the facing to a different shape to the body.

The facing has been cut to shape and glued to the body. This has then been cut to the overall shape and Kristian is sanding the body outline smooth.

The holes are then drilled where the neck will be bolted to the body.

Kristian is routing control cavities where the various switches and pots will go.

The fret slots are sawn on an adapted jig.

Kristian is using a spokeshave to shape the neck.

The frets are stoned level and to ensure the correct balance between the bass and treble relief.

Once the guitar has been finished and reassembled the wires are run through the body and connected to the various pots and switches.
