The padauk facing has been joined and planed, and is now being surfaced using a scraper plane.

Kristian has decided to achieve a decorative effect by cutting the facing to a different shape to the body.

The facing has been cut to shape and glued to the body. This has then been cut to the overall shape and Kristian is sanding the body outline smooth.

The holes are then drilled where the neck will be bolted to the body.

The frets are stoned level and to ensure the correct balance between the bass and treble relief.
