The back has been joined, cut to shape and thicknessed, and a spruce strip is glued on the inside to reinforce the join.

Next, the braces are glued on and carved to shape.

The neck is prepared, the truss rod fitted and the machine head holes drilled. The end of the neck is rebated where the front is going to be glued.
