Zach is routing the socket for the neck join. This is easier done before the shape is cut out.

Zach has cut the tenon to fit the routing in the body and is finishing the fit by carefully paring the shoulders.

Feeler gauges are a useful addition to the eye to check the fit. The gauge here is 0.05mm and will not go in anywhere. This will give a neat precise join.

Zach is gently carving the front, starting with a rebate routed around the edge of the body.
